22quadrat

the atmospheric documentary film "form" describes the concept and design and implementation process of an artistic signaletik for the campus in the olypiapark, which the interdisciplinary studio for design 22quadrat developed for the technical university of munich. the signaletik was developed for the new building of the faculty of sports and health sciences in the olypiapark, whose architecture was designed by dietrich untretrifaller architects.

the concept is based on a statement by david bohm about the importance of form and illustrates the process that is inherent in every human being and athlete who, in the course of his or her life, strives for the perfect form that is inherent in him or her and that the athlete wishes to express through his or her respective discipline.

the signaletik consists of a large-format hand drawing that extends as a minimalist spatial graphic through the central axis of the 120-metre-long building over both sides and fluidly connects the exposed concrete with the glass surfaces. embedded in the filigree line drawing are typographical elements that mark the corridors leading off from the central axis.

the hand drawing is the largest hand drawing that has been realised by 22quadrat to date - it extends over more than 30 individual wall and glass surfaces.
